Już po raz III Fundacja im. Anny Pasek organizuje Konkurs stypendialny, którego finalista otrzyma prestiżowe Stypendium Naukowe im. Anny Pasek w wysokości 45 000 PLN
Celem Stypendium jest wspieranie wyróżniających się naukowo, młodych doktorantów, podejmujących badania o znaczeniu praktycznym, realizowane z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnych narzędzi i technik Systemów Informacji Geograficznej (GIS) i teledetekcji środowiska.

Vodafone udostępnił oprogramowanie do nawigacji na licencji open-source. W związku z zaprzestaniem działalności w tym segmencie rynku (location-based services), dotychczasowy produkt w postaci serwera działającego w systemie CentOS i części klienckiej dla telefonów Symbian S60, iPhone, Android, został udostępniony na licencji BSD.
The mission of the Institute is development and implementation of advanced spatial information systems, also known as geographical information systems (GIS). The systems developed by the Institute are supporting public administration tasks, management of economy and public security as well as management of harmonious spatial development of the whole country. Particularly, the Institute developes e-administration systems, incl. specialistic Internet portals applying GIS technologies, to be used by public administration, private enterprises and by individuals. The Institute also performs advisory role and conducts education of specialists in the domain of implementation and exploatation of GIS systems. In substance, all the Institute’s activities are well placed within the general processes of developing information society.
